Fenelon Place Elevator
Known as the world’s shortest and steepest scenic railway, the Fenelon Place Elevator climbs 189 feet up a limestone bluff in just a few minutes. Originally built in 1882 for a local banker who hated long lunch breaks, it now offers jaw-dropping views of downtown Dubuque, the Mississippi River, and even parts of Illinois and Wisconsin.
The Millwork District
Once the heart of Dubuque's mill working industry, this revitalized district now thrives as a vibrant hub of culture, creativity, and community. Historic warehouses have been transformed into trendy lofts, eateries, and art spaces, blending the city's rich industrial past with modern innovation.
